Practice Navigator 3.02

Sofware Category: Business_Financial Calculator

Have you ever wondered how much income you could reliably maintain from your investments and wished that you could have a practice run? The Practice Navigator allows you to do just that. It simulates real-life stock market variability so that you can practice making investment decisions without the risk of financial loss. You will decide how your capital is allocated, how much income to withdraw, and when to sell stocks. As with real financial markets, some of the simulated Monte Carlo scenarios will be more difficult than others. See if you can maintain your desired income for up to 30 years. Compare your results to a systematic withdrawals benchmark.

Test your ability to maintain dependable investment income. Practice Navigator simulates real-life stock market variability so that you can practice making investment decisions without the risk of financial loss.
Pros: Practice navigator is essentially a simulation tool. It is a simulation tool for determining the kind of retirement income that can be supported by a pattern of investments. The application applies realistic rates of returns you can expect on families of stock and lets you determine what kind of income can be sustained by that. There are two modes in this spreadsheet based what-if analyzer. The simple version for example assumes you are investing in fixed rate income securities, blue chip securities, high rate of return securities and growth stocks. Once the amounts to be invested in each of these categories are fixed, you could see the effect on income over the years based on how these stocks perform in the stock market realistically.
The advanced version is more detailed and you get to see what kind of returns you are able to get year on year and what will be the effect upon withdrawal of certain parts of these funds. Charts and graphs lets you understand the issues better. You will be able to decide how your capital is allocated, how much income to withdraw, and when to sell stocks.
Cons: Always remember that these are simulations. All the scenario building can go completely off when a situation like the current one arises.
Overall this is a very good 3 star item.
